Close, but no cigar

It was so cool that Rolling Stone Magazine released a free online edition for their 40th anniversary. Some of the whopping 214 pages were interactive, bridging the magazine world with that of the web.

Where ill-planned technology kills any usefulness of this product, however, is in the "player" used to display the mag. It was too small! The window that contained the pages, while it implemented a cool flash page turn animation, made it impossible to view the text without zooming.

Perhaps if RS provided a .pdf version of the already free material for download, people like me would actually read it and flip through the countless advertisements within.
