Disheartened and Frustrated!
First off like everyone else... we need new camera because none of them seem to work. I tried all of the available camera to upload my video from an interview, but what do you know none of the firewire connections worked. So, I went back the next day just hoping there would be a camera that would work. I got it to upload... hmmm but no audio even though we checked levels and everything. BROKEN CAMERAS SUCK and it's getting really annoying when we only have a week to do a story because there's not much time for technical errors not caused by us.
Needless to say another less than satisfying grade and final product. We had good stuff, but the broken camera leaving us with no audio ruined the chances of what we had. You also go to love when your group calls every person possible in Columbia to be an offical source... but nobody wanted to talk to us, wasn't available or it wasn't their expertise. Finally someone called us back and we got the interview at 4 30pm Thursday... yea making our project super late... but what do you do... I'll you what you do, you get to sit and read a lovely, and yes I am being sacastic, email from the professors telling you what an awful job you did... great encouragement!
Getting sources from stores is a pain to do in a week too... do the professors realize that you have to go all the way through to national headquarters for anyone to speak on the subject? Employees are not allowed to speak for the company.
Like Lauren said, sitting at the roller rink on a friday night trying to talk to tweens about clothes was weird and we couldn't find any boys that would let us interview them.
Too top it off my grades in other classes are going downhill because of the time required in this class and having to work to afford to go to school. Lack of sleep is catching up with me again... I won't be suprised if I end up really sick again. It's bad when your other professors start taking notice to it.
I can't wait to go home to Seattle for Thanksgiving break, but I have a strange feeling that somehow reporting will be lurking around haunting me!
