KOMU shift and crisis of story ideas

My shift this week was better than the last one, as at least I could write a story for the website rather than had only one photo used. Ashton and I went to Moberly to get the local community’s reactions to the news that a DURA, a local automotive plant was going to lay off 250 people. Almost everyone refused to appear on camera and we could only persuade a 18 year old girl to talk. I was luckier than Ashton, as two people would not mind sharing their opinions on the website, though not to the camera.

The crisis of story ideas was unexpected to me. All our three ideas were rejected, and we had to rush for ideas. It was an exhaustive process. One idea after another was refused, we were quite desperate. At 5, when I was told that the final story idea that Erick put forward was accepted, I sighed with relief: “The week is over! Phew!”
